A main element of pastoral work is accompanying families in significant moments of transition. Life cycle events are the time and place when the community acknowledges the shift happening in one’s life—becoming a parent, an adult, a new family, constructing a new home, and finally, departing from a beloved one.

All rituals are based on Hebrew Scriptures and traditions, blended with local traditions and the wishes of the family. Thus, each such ceremony is special and singular.

The highlight of all life cycle events is to partake in a celebration of hope, faith, and love, revealed in a couple who chooses to bind their lives together. It is always a special moment, and every such event is unique and particular. Based on the foundation of the Jewish ritual, we build together the structure of the ceremony to fit the needs of the couple, the family, and the community.

Rabbi Sa’ar performs such rituals for all genders and sexual orientations. The Almond Rod is offering a Chuppa, a traditional Jewish canopy, for the wedding day.
