Rabbi Sa’ar comes from a spiritual linage which emphasize religious activism. Since the 90’s, he had been involved in an array of social, communal, cultural and educational endeavors of spiritual activism. He had worked and volunteered on many grassroots organizations, bringing on his experience in NGO management and a Progressive religious value base spiritual content.

Rabbi Sa’ar is currently involved in the following organizations:

The Orchard of Abraham’s Children (“Bustan Bnei Avraham”)

The Orchard of Abraham’s Children is a nonprofit organization located in Jaffa. Started with a unique multicultural kindergarten in the Holy Land for Jewish, Christian, and Muslim children, reflecting their interfaith way of life. This initiative has since grown to include multiple kindergartens and the Human First Education Center, promoting peace and multicultural understanding through workshops, art courses, spiritual teachings, and religious Units. The Orchard has become a role model and established an inspirational visitor center, symbolizing a groundbreaking educational and community model fostering respect and breaking down barriers in the Holy Land and beyond.

Rabbi Sa’ar is a friend and a supporter of The Orchard of Abraham’s Children association, and is in constant touch with its leadership.

Sulha Peace Project

The Sulha Peace Project, founded in 2000 during the Second Intifada, is dedicated to fostering connections between Palestinians and Israelis through face-to-face encounters and dialogue. Their mission is to restore humanity and rekindle the human spirit amidst the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which impacts daily life and hinders trust, especially among younger generations. It focus is on building partnerships between Israelis and Palestinians through professional training and project-based learning on environmental issues. Join their mission to bridge divides and support the next generation of peacemakers, making a positive impact in a challenging environment.

Rabbi Sa’ar served as the executive director of the Sulha Peace Project. These experiences he described in his book “Peace of God’s Land” (Reeling Press, 2012) and on his documentary “Gate Was Sealed” (Hebrew/Arabic, 2015).
